Top Five ATV Accessories

!±8± Top Five ATV Accessories

ATVs have become an extremely popular recreational and practical vehicle for many campers, sports enthusiasts, and anyone working out in the wild. These products are easy to use and extremely durable to elements. They can be ran through streams, covered in dirt, and driven over rocks. They'll keep going with a great amount of speed and a smooth ride. These products for all their benefits are also incredibly light and small, so they are easy to transport to and from the home and can fit down small trails out in the wild as well. Though they are great on their own, many people find that these vehicles need a few extra accessories to make them really fun and useful for whatever their purposes. Here are the top five ATV accessories to help you on your way making the most of your ATV.

Probably the most common is a large front bumper. These products are used to reinforce the strength of the vehicle as well as to provide a lot of practicality when using it out in the wild. These accessories provide a great deal of utility such as pulling extra weight also have other objects with tent posts tied to them for extra storage space.

Which brings us to the next best accessory for your ATV - the storage container. These products can be found in many different sizes and made to fit around many different parts of your ATV, whether the front or the back as well as alongside the fenders. These are usually heavy duty in construction, waterproof, and removable for easy and safe use.

In addition to accessories that go on your ATV, ramps are probably the most helpful accessory for owners. Many people don't live near the wild where they ride their ATV, so they transport these vehicles by truck or trailer. Ramps allow the owner to easily move their ATV to and from their location without trouble and more importantly with safety.

Wenches are less common tools, but are extremely useful products. These products are attached to the front or back of your ATV and can be used to pull weight and even help you pull your ATV out of a ditch if needed just like a truck wench.

Finally, appropriate wear like helmets, goggles, and masks are also very important to keeping riders safe and comfortable. These products come in nearly every type of color and style, so you can stay cool looking as well as having all the benefits.

Pick of the Week: Artic Cat 400 4x4

!±8± Pick of the Week: Artic Cat 400 4x4

Generally speaking, Artic Cat ATVs have a huge market share as far as mid-range ATVs are concerned. Combine their affordability with high quality parts - they have gained good ground on the ATVs that they produce and thus far, have a lot of ATV fans hooked. The 2007 model comes in three versions to meet the different needs of different ATV riders. The good thing is that there's an option for you to purchase the Arctic Cat ATV which is a single-seater or you can pick the Artic Cat that is a double-seater - the choice is yours to make. Accordingly, the price difference is roughly ,000. The other Arctic Cat 400 versions are ones with and without automatic transmission.

Other features of Arctic Cat 400 4x4 ATV

o Suzuki-built engine

o Engine is air-cooled, four-stroke, four valves and one overhead cam

o Manual is five speed with high and low range; comes with reverse

o Option: two or four wheel drive

o Locking front differential

o Ten inches of travel at both ends; twelve inches ground clearance underneath

What others have to say about Arctic Cat 400 4x4 ATV

This ATV is more comfortable than we first expected it to be - the seat is extremely soft and comfortable to ride on making every ride you have on the ATV a smash! Most Arctic Cat fans say that the thing that they were most impressed with were the fact that it had a front lock differential - it's almost impossible to get stuck in this ATV. "One time, I was ready to bring on the winch but then I suddenly remembered that my Arctic Cat had front differential feature and within a heart beat, I was out. It was amazing", says Kenneth Mahon (35), a satisfied Arctic Cat ATV fan.

Cody Zimmerman (22), is absolutely in love with his Arctic Cat 400 and says that it's an AWESOME machine to have simply because of it's ground clearance. It's fast enough, safe enough, fun enough and can go just about anywhere a two-wheeler and four-wheeler can go. And Cody reckons that Arctic Cat gives good pricing for an ATV like this too!

Other reviews of Arctic Cat 400 4x4 ATV

However, it's not all beds and roses with the Arctic Cat because one problem we found was that the gears were set too high. For instance, the reverse gear was set so high that if you tried to reverse yourself out of the mud, you won't be able to because it won't have enough power to get the ATV out. Perhaps a change of tires would do the trick, so, it's all trial and error here.

Arctic Cat 400 is probably not the best machine to race on but it is definitely one of the best ATVs to own if you love get a little muddy! It's got the power to get the machine out of anything if you get the right tires and it's decently fast. But we reckon it's nothing a little modification can't fix. And for that price? Come on!

Choosing the Right ATV Tires and Wheels

ATV Parts & Accessories

Whether you're an outdoor enthusiasts or an indoor geek (like myself), riding an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) can be a rewarding experience. There's nothing like the adrenaline rush you get from speeding through bumpy roads or sand dunes while feeling the full effects of the elements around you to get your mind off work-related stress. The ATV industry includes an impressive array of vehicle manufacturers. Names like Honda, Kawasaki, Bombadier, Suzuki, and Yamaha, and Polaris are among the well-known manufacturers that makes ATVs.

There are a few things you will need to know about maintaining or even upgrading your ATV. You have to make sure you're equipped with the proper ATV parts and accessories. And if you're going to be doing some serious ATV riding, that means ATV wheels, tires, and winches.

ATV Wheels and Tires

ATV tires are perhaps the most obvious of the group. If you're going to be doing some serious off-roading, you'll need to have some quality off-road tires. It's important to know that all-terrain vehicles can have three, four, or six wheels. Obviously this will affect your choice of tires. This is one of the things to take into consideration when shopping for ATV wheels or tires.

Since ATVs by their very nature tend to geared towards harsh terrain, there doesn't exist the same danger of choosing a street-oriented wheel that can't handle constant abuse the way you'd come across with truck, Jeep, or SUV tires. Of course, your decision will be affected by your ATV use. A utility ATV (or UTV) will not require quite the same rugged tires or wheels as their sport ATV counterparts. The type of terrain you'll be riding on will also affect your ATV wheel/tire decision. ATV trail tires, sand tires, and race tires all have their pros and cons relative to each other as they are each geared toward a specific type of terrain.

Fortunately, there are a number of well-known manufacturers that make tires and wheels for all-terrain vehicles. With brands like ITP, Kenda, Maxxis, STI, and Super Swamper/Intero, making the right choice in ATV wheels and tires is rather easy. If you have a preferred brand, then chances are you've already made up your mind. Otherwise you'll want to compare specs, along with the type of terrain and the level of extremity at which you'll be riding against costs (assuming you are on a budget).

ATV Winches

The more adventurous you plan on getting with your ATV off-roading, the more you'll want to be equipped with a quality ATV winch. A winch can prove to be that 'get out of jail free' card or that reset button (depending on whether you're a board game or video game geek) for sticky off-road situations. Long story short, a quality winch will pull you out of compromising positions (like being stuck in mud, sand, or in a ditch).

Mile Marker, Warn, Superwinch, and Ramsey are among the trusted manufacturers that make ATV winches. Deciding on an ATV winch rests largely in the type of winch and the line pull you prefer. Since you're in an ATV, an electric winch makes the most sense. And because your ATV isn't a truck or SUV, you shouldn't need to worry about needing 12,000 lbs worth of line pull. Depending on your ATV, 3,000 lbs will likely cut it but it's possible you'll need a bit more. Check with your ATV manufacturer for more information.

ATV Riding

Now that you're familiar with the 101 of ATV riding, it's time to go forth and shop. Choose the ATV tires, wheels, and winches that best suit your needs. If you're on a budget, you may have to be a bit creative. If not, the sky is the limit.
